To avoid confusion, here are the DofE guidelines, from their website, for doing your
Bronze, Silver or Gold skills:
Which level are you doing?
There are three levels of programme you can do which, when you’ve successfully completed them, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Sectional activities need to average an hour a week, with the first and last activities being the full section duration apart. At Bronze level, it is typical for activities to be weekly. For longer sections at Silver and Gold (potentially at Bronze, depending on the activity), it can help for the activity to be longer (in terms of hours per session) but less often.
Skills section: 3 months (+ an optional 3 months)
You also have to spend an extra three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections. It’s your choice which one and, though you can change your mind later, you should decide which section you want to do for longer at the beginning.
Physical and Skills sections: One section for 6 months and the other section for 3 months
Physical and Skills sections: One section for 12 months and the other section for 6 months
NOTE: If you jump in with the silver or gold award, there will be an additioal requirement, details can be found on the DofE website under 'timescales'.

Free-from: Gluten and Dairy
I am a specialist teacher in gluten and dairy-free cooking. I have written and run the workshops at Leith's School of Food & Wine for their 'Free From' section and I am thrilled with the feedback from my clients there, so... I thought I should bring them straight to you!

Bread, Cakes & Pastry
These days, I bake infrequently. However, it remains that these skills are an outstanding addition to any chef's repertoire as you can earn good money by using them. Not only that, but everyone should be able to make a decent cake, loaf or tart for their mother's birthday!
