This course is suitable for a student of any level of cooking experience, whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has prior cooking knowledge.
Due to the online nature of all these courses, it is ideal for students who want to learn from home. There is no required communication so it is perfect for anyone who may be a bit nervous learning a skill in a group setting.
These courses are also SEND-friendly and offer a wide range of dietary adaptations, whether your teenager is coeliac, dairy-intolerant or has a severe allergy. All of my recipes can be adapted, just contact me or email me at [email protected].
Absolutely! It's a brilliant choice for long-term health and life. Knowing how to cook from scratch will keep you healthy and save you money!
You need to do a 3 or 6-month skill. My courses are broken into 3-month modules, and you can take a break between them.
Yes, every course is suited to a complete beginner! However, if you have a little bit of knowledge, you will fly even further in the kitchen, particularly with speed.
No. For longer skills, over 6 months, you can spread the cooking out a little. For example, for a longer 6-month skill, you could cook fortnightly.
We use simple kitchen equipment, and each recipe has a list of what you will need. I encourage the use of machines for those who are less dexterous.
No, all ingredients are available from your local supermarket. However, there are a few specialist items in the gluten free course.
Yes! If you need help with any changes, please contact me!
Yes! Please choose the SEND course for beginners to start with. This will teach them, in a very calm way, how to be organised and safe in the kitchen. Usually, this is enough to then allow them to enjoy my other courses, which run at a faster pace.
They certainly can. However, if there are special educational needs or you feel that they are slightly scatty then I would suggest supporting them while they get going and then stepping back. I always suggest using a large screen to watch the videos which can make all the difference!
This is not a problem, you just need to keep in touch as soon as you are aware you need more time. DofE are very understanding of illness/accidents, etc. that can cause a delay.
